The Butterfly Station and Garden is open April 19 2008, through mid October, during regular Science Center hours.

Butterfly Hello!
Saturday, April 19 2008, 11:00 am–3:00 pm. Free. Help us welcome a new season of butterflies and spring flowers as the Butterfly Station and Garden swings open its gates for 2008! The smells and sights of spring beauty lay the foundation for another stunning season in the garden. This year, opening day coincides with National Environmental Education Week. The day holds fun for the family with activities on life cycles, symmetry and habitats, and craft stations that help you explore the beauty of the science in these amazing insects. Don’t miss the butterfly release at noon. The Butterfly Station and Garden is a living laboratory for visitors of all ages.

Butterfly Fun (ages 5 - 8)
Saturday, May 10 2008, 10:00 am–noon. Explore the butterfly’s life cycle while you learn amazing butterfly facts. Identify local butterflies and their foods. Sip nectar from a “flower” and enjoy a butterfly snack. Wrap up your flight into the world of butterflies with a guided tour of the Butterfly Station and Garden. This program supports Brownie Try It “Butterfly Fun.”
Fee: Member or Scout: $4; nonmember: $7 (includes Science Center admission); Scout leaders are free. Pre-registration required by Thursday, May 8, 2008. To register or for information, call 434-791-5160, Ext. 0.
